We sell domestic dehumidifiers, commercial dehumidifiers, and industrial dehumidifiers online, with delivery in the Bootle area. We supply from some of the most trusted brands, including Woods, Ebac, Calorex, Aerial, Master, Fral, Thermobile, Dantherm, Broughton, Dri-Eaz, and Ecor Pro. There are two main types of dehumidifiers - refrigerant and desiccant. Both have the same goal - removing moisture from the air to prevent a build-up of excess humidity, which can lead to problems with condensation, mould, and damp. But the real difference between refrigerant and desiccant dehumidifiers is exactly how each type removes the excess moisture. Refrigerant models, which are also called compressor or condensation dehumidifiers, are the most common and well-known type used. They use a set of refrigerated coils to extract moisture from the air via condensation. They are cheap to run and suited to drying a wide range of spaces. Refrigerant dehumidifiers work best in temperatures above 15-degrees, but some high-quality models work effectively as low as 5-degrees. Below that temperature level, a desiccant dehumidifier is best. They extract moisture from the air using an absorbent material on a rotary wheel. Desiccants are extremely effective in colder conditions - even well below freezing. So, they are ideal for more challenging areas and harsher conditions. Why do you need a dehumidifier? Generally, they reduce excess moisture, preventing condensation, damp, and eventually mould. They’re ideal for drying out a room following a leak or flood, and they are great for drying construction and decorating work. Dehumidifiers are also great for preserving sensitive materials and equipment that could be damaged by high humidity levels.
