Garage & Workshop Heaters

Garage & Workshop Heaters
Ideal for home & commercial workspaces
Here at National Heater Shops, we have a fantastic selection of heating solutions for all types of garages and workshops. Heating such spaces is not easy, as they often tend to be poorly insulated, draughty and damp.
Thankfully, there are plenty of heating options available to help transform your uncomfortable, unproductive and chilly garage into a warm and comfortable workspace all year-round.
FINDING THE PERFECT HEATER
The perfect heater for your garage depends on multiple factors, including the size of the garage, what you use it for and how much time you spend in there.
If you have a small garage at home for hobbies and DIY projects, your requirements will be different than if you have a large commercial workshop to heat.
Remember to check our online heating calculator to find out the minimum heat output your space requires.
FOR A HOME WORKSHOP OR GARAGE
For a domestic workspace, you may only need a lower output electric fan heater or infrared heater. For small home garage or workshop, the HEYLO DE2XL 2kW Portable Electric Fan Heater, or the Master TS 3A 2.4kW Infrared Heater are two great examples of safe, fume-free electric heaters offering multiple features and benefits. For a fixed solution, the Reznor Quartz Glow Apollo Electric Radiant Heater range includes wall brackets for permanent installation.
Cabinet heaters are designed to be conveniently installed into tight corners or gaps to save space. These fixed industrial heaters are available in a wide range of sizes and fuel options, from the 18kW Arcotherm Vertigo, up to the 97kW Thermobile ProHeat 100. They provide high volumes of 100% clean warm air for safely heating indoor industrial spaces where every meter matters.
Oil and gas fuelled heaters are compatible with smaller garage spaces, ensuring there is sufficient ventilation so fumes and smoke produced are not inhaled. This may necessitate leaving the garage door open whilst the heater is running so any fumes or smoke can exhaust outside.
FOR A LARGE WORKSHOP OR COMMERCIAL GARAGE
For larger workshops, such as commercial car garages, we have a range of permanent and portable options. From propane, paraffin, kerosene, diesel or oil fuelled, the heaters in our selection are designed to sufficiently and efficiently heating larger workspaces, enhancing comfort and productivity.
Thermobile TA22 Direct Oil-Fired Space Heater boasts a 22kW output, perfect for large, open workshops and well-ventilated garage spaces. If your workspace lacks sufficient ventilation, we have a range of indirect heaters designed to be used with ducting, such as the Master BV 77 20kW Indirect Oil-Fired Space Heater or the Arcotherm EC22 Indirect Oil-Fired Space Heater, so that only clean warm air is blown indoors, and any fumes or smoke are flued outside of the space.
Gas heaters are a brilliant option for garages due to their ability to deliver fast, efficient and cost-effective heating. Though they must only be used in spaces with the shutter door is open to provide sufficient airflow. The Master BLP 33M Direct LPG Gas Heater 33kW features a compact and portable design with adjustable heat settings for a convenient and versatile solution.
Where space still matters in larger garages and workshops, we supply a variety of high output cabinet heaters, which will distribute enough heat to cover large areas whilst still saving space. The Arcotherm Confort 35 (ErP) 32kW and the Thermobile Bio Energy 2 Cabinet Heater 41kW are great solutions with fantastic features, including fan-only mode and two heat settings.
HOW TO SAFELY HEAT A WORKSPACE
As electric, infrared and indirect fired heaters produce completely clean heat, they can be safely used in enclosed indoor spaces.
Though LPG space heaters and direct oil-fired space heaters are suitable for use indoors, adequate ventilation must be ensured – by leaving the garage door wide open for example.
HOW TO ECONOMICALLY HEAT A WORKSPACE
Infrared heaters provide an excellent solution for heating workshops and garages. As these heaters target objects, surfaces and people directly, no heat energy is wasted on the surrounding air. This is especially useful in large premises where few people are working in one specific area as, unlike space heaters, an infrared heater will not waste energy or expense on heating the entire space, only those directly beside it.
Waste oil heaters provide a brilliant solution for garages and workshops that deal with volumes of oil and various fuel types per day, such as engine oil, biofuels, rapeseed oil and certain vegetable oils. Waste oil heaters offer a convenient and sustainable recycling system for any wasted oil or fuel discarded by commercial car garages and such – essentially fuelling your heater for free. Though be aware, licenses are now required to burn waste oil.
