How Does A Heat Pump Air Conditioner Work?
A heat pump air conditioner consists of both air conditioning and heating elements. For cooling areas, heat is absorbed from indoor air using an evaporator coil, which carries the heat to a compressor, where it is then pressurised and passed onto an outdoor unit which exchanges the warm air for cool air.
In order to warm spaces, a heat pump air conditioner transfers heat as opposed to generating it. The heat pump uses the same process as the cooling cycle, but in reverse. This means that heat is extracted from the outdoor air, compressed to raise its temperature, and then released indoors using a coil.
These units offer high seasonal efficiency and reduced energy costs due to their heat transfer system and year-round uses.
