Ideal Halo Air RF 1-Zone Programmable Room Thermostat 234819
The Ideal Halo Air RF 1-Zone Programmable Room Thermostat is a wireless smart controller for Ideal Logic Air heat pump systems that doesn’t involve a hardwired installation. It connects directly to the heat pump via the Smart Interface, with all controls offered via a large colour screen with backlight and dial interface.
Instead of just turning on or off, it uses weather compensation to scale fan speeds up or down, and tracks outdoor temperatures to match flow temperatures. It gives you 7-day scheduling with up to 6 heating and hot water events per day, setback temperature modes, and on-screen fault diagnostics so you can see exactly what is going on, regardless of whether the heating is on or off.
Features and Benefits: Ideal Halo Air RF Thermostat 234819
Wireless Installation: Wireless communication between the thermostat and the heat pump removes the need for physical cables for installing.
No Wi-Fi Required: Works as a complete standalone device with no internet or necessary.
Heat Pump Efficiency: Instead of just switching on/off the heat pump modulates its flow temperatures, which also reduces the amount of electricity used.
7-Day Control: Programme your week with up to 6 different time and temperature schedules so you can set exactly when you want your heating to come on and off.
Fault Reporting: Faults are displayed on screen with maintenance requirements shown in real time to users and engineers.
Looking for Smart App & Remote Control?
For those who like to control their heating while on the move, the Ideal Halo Air Wi-Fi Programmable Room Thermostat is the real choice here. It includes the same features as this model but also adds Wi-Fi connectivity for app control on your phone and interfacing with smart home voice control systems such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Location & Sensor Placement
The Ideal Halo Air RF thermostat should be mounted around 1.2m to 1.5m above floor level, well away from direct sunlight, drafts, radiators, or close to doors near the outside of the house. Heat pump efficiency depends upon the thermostat's ability to read the temperatures of your living area accurately to keep flow temperatures steady and precise.
Installation Checklist
RF Pairing Verification: Before mounting on the wall, pair the room unit with the Logic Air Smart Interface box using the 2.4 GHz pairing mode to verify the RF signal is strong enough. Once confirmed, then you can mount the room unit.
Temperature Strategy: Instead of switching the unit off, we recommend using a setback temperature of around 17°C–18°C during off-peak hours. Setting a low and stable temperature will be better for the system's overall Coefficient of Performance (COP).
Power Supply: Use fresh 1.5V AA Alkaline batteries from a reputable brand for installation to reduce drop outs and for a table Zigbee RF output.
