Vaillant HE 100mm 90° Flue Elbow (ecoTEC / ecoMAX)
The Vaillant HE 100mm 90° Flue Elbow is a genuine manufacturer part designed for use in Vaillant flue systems to give a 90° turn for flue runs. This elbow can be used with all residential Vaillant ecoTEC and ecoMAX condensing boilers with a standard 100mm concentric flue system, allowing heating engineers to bend the flue pipework round internal walls and beams that give horizontal or vertical termination points.
This elbow has been made with an acid-resistant polypropylene (PP) tube within its exterior and a white powder coated metal exterior. This elbow also has push-fit sockets built into it with EPDM factory gaskets with its fittings fixed by a structural securing clamp collar and screws. This gives the elbow a rigid, gas-tight joint that meets all the requirements of Gas Safe and Building Regulations.
Features and Benefits: Vaillant HE 100mm 90° Flue Elbow
Authentic Vaillant Part: Provides full assurance of the correct fitting and guarantees your boiler’s warranty by meeting the necessary criteria detailed in Vaillant's installation guidelines.
Unified 87°/90° Fallback Angle: Designed to provide a tilt to ensure all flue pipework runs horizontally and has a continuous fall of at least 3° (52mm/m) to provide good condensate drainage.
Securing Collar & Fixings: This also comes with an external locking clamp collar and screws, so that a socket joint can be clamped down and not affected by any movement or vibration.
High Chemical & Thermal Resistance: Includes an inner polypropylene core ideal for withstanding corrosive flue gases and acidic condensate from today's condensing boilers.
Quick & Easy Push-Fit Construction: Internal EPDM rubber gaskets built into each pipe mean easy and efficient leak free joints which are completely free from messy solvent welding or specialist sealing compounds.
Technical Installation & Compliance
Current boiler flue elbows are shaped with an angle of 87° instead of a 90°. This design detail matters when the elbow is fitted vertically from the boiler's connection point or horizontally along a wall as it automatically establishes the required 3° downward slope toward the boiler for any connecting horizontal pipe. The critical outcome is avoiding the build up of dangerous stagnant condensate that have collected within the flue pipe joints.
As with previous connections, a white clamp collar with screws is provided, which is an important safety feature. When fitting the elbow, make sure that the hole in it is properly seated on the male end until the elbow is touching the stop, then clamp securely. This will avoid the joint separating due to knocks or thermal expansion within the installation space.
