Destratification Fans For Efficient Climate Control
At National Heater Shops, we provide a selection of powerful destratification fans, designed for energy efficient air recirculation and climate control.
Our range of destratification fans include models from reliable, trusted brands such as Reznor and Winterwarm. Designed for large areas with high ceilings, these fans help to maintain a comfortable temperature by recirculating hot air that naturally rises up towards the ceiling. This helps to keep heating costs down as the warm air is recirculated back down towards the floor, keeping individuals warm.
Stratification refers to the process in which warm air rises whilst cooler, denser air sinks. Occupants are less likely to feel the effects of this if a destratification fan is installed, keeping temperatures level and preventing heat from rising. The Carbon Trust estimates that these fans can reduce energy consumption by as much as 20%.
Destratification fans are widely used in large halls or areas with very high ceilings. This includes gyms, sports halls, warehouses, atriums or in some commercial spaces such as retail stores.
Ceiling Fans For Recirculation And Comfort
Whilst destratification fans are purpose built for vertical air redistribution, ceiling fans provide a broader airflow solution suitable for smaller commercial and residential areas.
Ceiling fans are capable of assisting in the distribution of cool air in warmer months, and can be used in reverse mode to support heating systems in winter. Models such as the Airvent 444123 1200mm Reversible Ceiling Fan are reversible, allowing for both heating and cooling assistance by drawing hot air upwards during warm seasons and redistributing the warm air that has risen during cold seasons.
Unlike destratification fans, ceiling fans are usually operated seasonally and are not used on a continuous basis. However, they can be used in addition to destratification fans to deliver enhanced results.
Additionally, some of these ceiling fans are multifunctional and feature ceiling lights. The Global Ceiling Fans Moreno White Reversible Ceiling Fan is a ceiling fan with light feature, perfect for bedrooms or living rooms.
Destratification Fan FAQs
What is a destratification fan and how does it work?
A destratification fan works by pushing warm air that has risen to the ceiling back down to the floor. This reduces temperature differences within a space and improves heating efficiency, saving money and energy.
Can I use a ceiling fan instead of a destratification fan?
Ceiling fans help with air circulation but they do not inherently help with stratification. For high ceilings or industrial environments, a destratification fan is the most effective choice.
Do destratification fans save energy?
Yes. By helping warm air that naturally rises to be recirculated, less energy is used to heat the room - especially in large, high-ceiling buildings.
Ceiling Fan FAQs
Are ceiling fans energy efficient?
Ceiling fans are extremely energy efficient, especially when compared to other air conditioning options. They use minimal electricity, allowing you to reduce heating and cooling usage.
Do ceiling fans help in winter?
Yes, if a ceiling fan has a reverse function it can help to circulate warm air downward, which improves heating efficiency during colder months.
Can ceiling fans be integrated with smart controls?
Many modern ceiling fans can be integrated with smart systems, such as the Global Ceiling Fans RV05 Commercial Fan Controller, which allows for multiple fans to be controlled at once. This is particularly useful in commercial environments.
