Worcester Bosch System Freeze Protection Kit 8–16kW
The Worcester Bosch System Freeze Protection kit is to be used on exterior hydraulic pipework for an 8kW to 16kW Worcester Bosch air-to-water heat pump system. Once installed between the flow and return on exterior connections, this kit protects against frost damage and acts as a fail-safe for when the system is not in use or for unplanned system shutdown and extreme cold.

Automatic Activation: These valves constantly gauge the temperature of the fluid inside the external piping, automatically opening up once temperatures drop to allow any standing water to drain out. This prevents ice from forming and ultimately, pipes from bursting.
Self-Sealing: Once incoming fluid warms up to +4°C (either due to renewed circulation of the main system or changing weather conditions), the valves will close by themselves to keep the system pressure.
High-Flow Connections: They use 1 ¼” (DN32) parallel threaded ports to make sure no restriction to hydraulic flow, pressure drops, or pump strain is caused. These are best sized for higher capacity heat pumps such as 8kW, 10kW, 12kW, 14kW & 16kW units.
Heat Capacity: No need for glycol mixtures as heating fluid viscosity is kept low and keeps 100% of the water's heat capacity, leading to the best possible SCOP for reduced energy consumption throughout the year.
Requirements: Mount it vertically at the lowest point possible and as close to pipework of the outdoor unit.
